Shh, don't tell but I’m taking over Tid Bits. Stephanie Nelson may think she's in control of me but I only let her think that. If I want a chance with Gwen I have to keep her happy, right?

So why am I hijacking her blog? Stephanie finally gave me a voice and it's my turn to tell my side of the story. Some may think all I want is an easy lay but when it comes to Gwen, there's nothing easy about how I feel.

So being the opportunist I am, I trick Gwen into going to Clover Grove, a nice little bed and breakfast, to track down a ghost. The fact that we have to share a bedroom was simply a mistake, or at least that’s what I’ll let Gwen think.

Cupid Painted Blind, I think it has something to do with Shakespeare. I knew the guy, even escorted him to the hereafter and let me tell you, he talks too much! I was happy to be rid of him, but the women seem to really like his velvet trimmed words so I have to give the man  props.

strong>Awaken (The Patronus)
Lucy Donovan was supposed to have a weekend of fun in the sun, celebrating her upcoming graduation from college. In a split second, everything changed. A drunk driver ended Lucy’s mortal life.

Cait Lavender is a twenty five year old wife and stay at home mother of one in Central California. Living on a cattle ranch and raising her daughter doesn’t afford her much leisure time, but when she has a spare minute or two she loves riding horses, baking and reading everything she can get her hands on. She grew up loving the written word and creative writing and finally decided to work on her dream of becoming a published author.

She has a short story, Cowboy Moon, and a full-length novel, Hunter Moon, both available on Smashwords, Amazon and Barnes & Noble. She’d love to hear from you on her Facebook author page, @caitlavender on Twitter or on her blog, www.caitlavender.com

I'm happy to welcome, Cait Lavender! I met Cait in one of my writer's groups and it's been so fun getting to know her. I was lucky enough to beta read her up coming novel, Hunter Moon and all i can say is it's gonna be a winner! Cait knows how to pull her readers in and have them craving her characters. The sexual tension in Hunter Moon is enough to keep you begging for more.

Cait just released Cowboy Moon, a prequel to Hunter Moon. It's available through Amazon, Smashwords and soon Barnes & Noble.

Now for the interview....

First, why don’t you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Well, I’m a stay-at-home mother of one (so far). I live on a 20+ acre cattle ranch in Central California with my husband, daughter and two dogs. I love riding horses and camping, snowboarding and above all, reading! I also write book reviews when I’m not writing my books.

You’re novel is called, Hunter Moon. Could you tell us a little bit about it?
It’s a Paranormal Romance set very near my hometown in Raymond, CA. The main character, Shelby, is a feisty, fiery woman hell-bent on becoming a successful cattle rancher despite some nasty family who try to take it all away. When a marijuana grower sets up shop on her land, she meets a sexy and mysterious game warden named Cash and fun, steamy chaos ensues.

Have you always been a writer or was there something that inspired you into the field?
I’ve always loved reading and writing ever since I was a little kid. My mother even used grounding me from my books as an effective form of punishment! I wrote a little bit in high school but really didn’t get going until last year when I was inspired by all the talented and successful indy writers who use ebooks as their medium to reach readers.

If you had to describe Shelby in three words, they would be….
Fiery, Loyal and Brave  (<--- I have to agree, Shelby's got a temper but she's so easy to love)

If you had to describe Cash in three words, they would be….
Intense, Surprising and Drop-Dead-Gorgeous (the hyphens make it one word, right? ;)  (Cash in one word is TEMPTING....OH BOY!)

Hunter Moon is you’re first novel. How many books are you planning in the series?
Four at this point. The sequel of Hunter Moon and then one for each of Cash’s brothers. I also have two short stories, April Moon is the prequel and Rebel Moon, about Jack, a character you’ll meet in Hunter Moon.

What scenes do you enjoy writing the most?
I really loved writing scenes where Shelby was just livid. I guess I wish I could act out on my anger like she does.

If you could meet any author, alive or dead, who would it be?
That’s a hard question! There are so many, but I’ll narrow them down to two. Dead, I’d love to talk to Shakespeare. He’s quite possibly the most inspired and genius writer of all time. Alive, I’d love to meet Patricia Briggs. Her books are so amazing and they’re set in the town where I was born. My parents moved away when I was a baby, so I really get a better image of it through her books. She inspired me to write about the small town where I grew up, hoping maybe to do the same for someone else.

Pick one song that best describes your book.

Today i'm bringing you the top ten witches of cinema and television, along with some other fabulous authors! I've always had a deep fascination with this particular supernatural group. Maybe it's because the prospect of performing magic is just down right awesome! Or perhaps they have such a bad rap and are misunderstood that i feel sorry for them. Unlike other supernaturals, witches are the closest to our reality. Salem Witch Trails anyone? Some people actually believe in them while others actually practice their culture--Wicca. It's because of this belief that countless murders and hatred stemmed, something that never ceases to baffle me.

While witches usually play the bad guys in movies, they are usually the good guys in books. I wonder why that is? So without further ado, i bring you my top ten favorite witches!

One

Picture
The Wizard of Oz
Billy Burke aka Glenda the good witch from The Wizard of Oz is the earliest memory i have of these magical people. Whenever my sister and i would watch this fabulous show, we'd argue over whom would be which witch. Of course we both wanted to be Glenda, she's the one with the pretty dress! Which leads me to the next on my list....

Two

Picture
The Wizard of Oz
"I'll get you my pretty and your little dog too!" (love that line!) The Wicked Witch of the West was played by Margaret Hamilton.
Now a lot of "bad" witches showcase green skin, but do you know why? It all leads back to the inquisition where women, who were supposedly practicing in what the Christians thought was "witchcraft". These women were persecuted and beaten in hopes that they'd confess to being a witch. Before they were hanged or burned, they were paraded through the streets and looked frightful due to the greenish bruises coloring their skin from the beatings and torture. This was the last image the people had of these women before they were killed.

Three

Picture
Hocus Pocus
My next fondest memories i have are of the Sanderson sisters. Sarah, Winifred and Mary. Played by Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy.  Although bad, you can't help but love them! Their quirky, screwball personalities beg for our attention. While they suck at their respective field, they are still bad mamma jamma's. Don't let their humorous demeanor fool you into letting them steal your children! = )

Four

Picture
Charmed.
Three sisters who descend from a long line of witches, receive their magic when Phoebe reads from the Book of Shadows! Because these three are so powerful, they seem to attract one demon after another. Although their lives are in constant danger, they stick together and fight evil. It's because of their strength and sisterhood that they made the list!
Cast includes: Alyssa Milano, Holly Marie Combes and Rose McGowan.

Five

Picture
Bewitched
Samantha (Elizabeth Montgomery) makes the list due to the fact that if i were a witch, i'd be just like her. She tries to do good with her magic but always ends up messing up somehow. Of course if someone ticks her off, she's bound to turn them into a animal or something else unsavory.

Six

Picture
Practical Magic
The Owens sisters, Sally and Gillian, played by Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman. These sisters are hexed by a centuries old curse which kills any man who dares enter their lives. Sally doesn't want anything to do with her magic and tries to live her life as a "normal" woman. Whereas Gillian embraces it which leads to a dead body, a resurrection and one mean ghost! They come together as one and in the end defeat the threat. I'm very close to my sister so maybe i have a soft spot for sister witches, but these two balance each other out so beautifully you can't help but love them!

Seven

Picture
Harry Potter
What kind of list would this be without, Harry Potter? Enough said. I'm sure i don't have to sell you guys on how amazing this series is. He's awesome, powerful and loyal. His friends are there for him and the magical town, Hogsmeade is magically magnificent! I so wish it existed!!

Cast: Daniel Radcliff, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint.

Eight

Picture
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Alyson Hannigan played Willow Rosenberg, who was  lovable and always willing to help out a friend. She studies and practices her magic until she knows the stuff by heart. This of course leads her down a dark path but with the help of her friends, she finds her way back.

Nine

Picture
The Vampire Diaries (Kat Graham)

Bonnie, to me, is like an updated version of Willow from Buffy. She's just learning her magic and uses it to help out her friends. The only difference is she has a little bit more of a backbone than Willow did. I can't help but wonder if Bonnie will also take a trip to the dark side. I can say though, she'd be a kickass friend to have!

Ten

Picture
The Witches (Anjelica Huston)
This movie came out in 1990 and is based on the book, The Witches by Rolad Dahl. I loved this show when i was a kid. It was a different take on the witches i was used to. In Rolad Dahl's dipiction, the witches hate children. Not only that, they wear disguises. During the day they look normal (see first picture) But when they are alone, the skin comes off to reveal their true ugly selves (see second picture).

This concludes the list. Hope you all enjoyed it! Be sure to check out the other participating blog lists for more scandalous supernaturals!
